(More customer reviews)I loved the idea of this product. I am very bothered by the crumbs around my gearshift and in the doorwells of my car. My shopvac doesn't seem to be able to get them up, and as much as they annoy me, I'm not willing to get out there with a Qtip to clean them out. So far, my best option has been to pay for detailing. Even that doesn't come out with a "new car" level of cleanliness.
The concept of CyberClean made perfect sense to me. From pictures, it reminded me of the childhood toy that would make fart noises, and I remembered that substance being able to gather dust and debris pretty easily. So, I ordered a jar.
My first impression was good. After peeling away the plastic to get into the jar (NOT an easy process), I pulled the goo out and tentatively tested it on my laptop keyboard. It had a pleasant minty odor that transferred to my hands, but I was disappointed by the lack of stuff getting stuck to it. I referenced the jar's label for special instructions that might help the stickiness, but there's no instructions at all. It doesn't even explain if or how you're supposed to clean the gooball when you're done, nor how to know when it's worn out.
Undaunted, I headed out to the car to give it a go. I started with the cupholders, and it got some crumbs up but not others. Multiple applications didn't seem to help. Then, I decided to try it on my nemesis: the gearshift crevices. It was completely ineffective. I don't think it got anything up. I also tried it on the flat area under the emergency brake. It may have picked up some dust there, but it certainly didn't lift crumbs or dirt. I also tried it on the door handle pocket, and it was equally ineffective there. I tried holding it on the spot harder and for longer periods, but nothing seemed to change the fact that it just wasn't doing what it promised.
So...overall, I can't recommend this product. It was a huge disappointment. It sounds really good in theory, but in practice, it just doesn't work.
