It is a heavy particle separator vacuum attachment, trapping only heavy ash, pellets, and coal. The lighter ash that is so destructive to vacuums and filter is past straight through plugging everything and getting to the vacuum motors when filters fail. Paying a restocking fee for false advertising and or defective design is just grossly wrong. If you bought it, to prevent paying restocking fees I recommend adding an ash filter inside the canister where the exterior vacuum is attached.
