(More customer reviews)Rust Blast made very short work of the surface rust on my standing-seam galvanized roof, but then I tried it on an old spare-tire wheel from my '86 Jeep Comanche. This poor piece of steel was hanging beneath the bed of my pickup since new. It finally fell off when the support cable rusted through, and has been sitting in the bed of the truck, right were water stands after a rain, for about 2 years.
The thing IS rust.
But Metal Blast really cut through and removed a great deal of rust, to the point that it really wasn't rust any longer. It neutralized and removed the rust and made it easy to brush down with a nylon scouring pad. It's so that it could be painted now and looks like there's no actual rust left to bubble up. Of course the surface is not perfect... years of rust damage will not be restored by this stuff. You'll need to sand and prime as usual... but still. I can see the original black paint now where before it was ALL crumbly rust.
So it does apparently neutralize and remove active rust. I'll order more soon to attack the rest of this truck. Metal Blast is highly recommended. Their Rust Bullet paint also seems to work well and goes on easy. but only time will tell if it really will stop the rust.
One more note: The customer service I received from Rust Bullet in Reno, Nevada, was friendly and extremely helpful.
