It has apparently washed out about as good as new, so is ready for the next application.

Evapo-Rust Rust Remover, 1 Qt Review

(More customer reviews)I often buy used tools (mostly sockets) from flea markets and such. These often have surface rust. Additionally, I had some tools in a box which I forgot about outside for several years, and these developed serious rust.
I heard about Evaporust on an online forum and thought I'd try it, not expecting much improvement. I was very pleasantly surprised by the results. A decades-old Vlchek universal socket which I still use occasionally (3/4" and 19mm are almost identical in size) had developed surface rust on the middle link (not chromed). Two days in Evaporust cleaned it up very nicely -- not gleaming, but dull, clean bare steel.
The best example was an old nail set which was completely rusted. I put it in a bowl of Evaporust, with the struck (hammer) end just out of the liquid. Two days later, the part below the surface was mostly rust-free, and the part above the surface provided a dramatic before-and-after contrast.
For best results, wash the part to be soaked in good grease-cutting dish soap, or use a commercial degreasing fluid if you have that. Areas with oil are not de-rusted.
Also, if the final appearance is important, make sure the part is suspended above the bottom of the bowl (or whatever container is used to hold the Evaporust). As the chemical in Evaporust reacts with the rust on the part, it changes color from yellow to black. The resulting black solution is thickest on the bottom of the bowl, and this will permanently deposit itself on the part. On the nail set mentioned above, the pin (nail end)is darker than the center shaft. This may or may not be a problem, and if you want the part to have a blacker appearance, ensure it is on the bottom.
So...this stuff is not cheap, but it works. For tools over a certain minimal value, it's well worth the investment. My only regret was that I didn't buy a five-gallon jug to start! Five stars.

(More customer reviews)This item is an old standby product that I keep in my cupboard all the time. It cleans and polishes silver, jewelry, anything. It does not require a great deal of rubbing, just enough to get it off and buff to a shine. If you put too much on, that will take some effort. You use it "sparingly". I use the plate system to clean my silver, then, I polish and buff with Simichrome. It definitey slows down the tarnishing.Just go online and find all the wonderful uses and reviews for this product. It is one no kitchen should be without.

POR-15 Cycle Tank Repair Kit Review

This kit includes 3 main components: a bottle of MarineClean, which dissolves the old gas, gunk, and varnish that accumulate on gas tanks that have been sitting for a long time; a bottle of MetalReady, which neutralizes existing rust in the tank (converting it to a phosphate); and a can of the POR-15 tank coating, which will finish the job and leave your gas tank looking just like new. The kit also included instructions, a piece of pinhole patch cloth, and a foam brush.
I used this kit on a 1982 Honda CM250C that had been sitting for over 20 years! The inside was absolutely horrendous with rust and gunk. When I got to the MetalReady step, I found out that the rust had eaten through the tank in some places, seams and pinholes, stuff like that. Fortunately, the kit came with a patch kit; a small piece of thin cloth, that when soaked in POR-15, became an impenetrable patch. Now the inside of my tank looks absolutely pristine, completely blemish-free and sealed. Now I gotta paint the outside of the tank so it looks as good as the inside!!
One note: be sure to wear latex gloves - They're not kidding when they say this sealer won't come off! I had a 'metal finger' for a couple weeks!

I tried them all and not one of them got the stain out. I went to a different auto store and saw zymol leather cleaner on the shelf. This one wasn't at the other store. I bought it and low and behold, it got the stain out without any major work. I couldn't believe it. Now I don't worry about using his car when I have my grand-daughter. I haven't found any dirt zymol didn't take out. But, I do often times have a problem locating a business that carries zymol. I don't know why, it seems when one finds a product that really works, it's so darn hard to find again.

Novus doesn't scratch or craze the surface of the plastic, and it can even polish out small scratches. I have also used two other grades of Novus containing fine to coarse polishing grit to remove fairly severe scratches from damaged windshields to good effect. I highly recommend the stuff. I haven't found anything better yet.

(More customer reviews)We have been trying to wean ourselves from sponges for hygienic reasons, and paper towels because we like trees better! Traditional dish cloths are too gloppy--even if you wring them out they are super wet and leave streaks on a wiped surface. I was pleased to find these super-absorbent, quick drying cloths. I bought a few small ones of another brand last summer and liked them--I even took one traveling for miscellaneous use--spot cleaning, napkins, coaster etc. In Switzerland they use these everywhere--my landlady accidentally stole one of mine because she saw it hanging on a chair and it looked just like hers!
These are super useful. I keep a large one on a hook inside the door to wipe the dog's paws and coat in wet weather. They are soft and absorb any fluid rapidly. I get the most use from them in the kitchen where they are great as dish cloths and for cleaning and wiping up spills. I have a large one under my drying rack to wick up moisture. I used to have a dish towel under there but it was always wet. These shammies wick all the water and dry super quickly. I use two in the bathroom, one for cleaning and one for polishing up the wet marks after. This job used to use a lot of paper towels!
Sop N Mop provides plenty for you to use. They give you four of the big size and eight of the smaller size. So when one starts to look even a little grimy I just put it in the wash and take out a new one. Much more hygienic than a sponge which stays wet forever and harbors all kinda nasties inside. Definitely worth it.

(More customer reviews)If you liked the old ArmorAll, you'll like this one better. The original formula was too runny. This one is a little more viscous so it doesn't just flow like water when you spray it on something. I use it for the interior of my car.
To keep it from splattering on the glass, I spray it onto a small sponge and then use the sponge to apply it.
